The Friends of the Bard Mansion is a non-profit corporation supported entirely by gifts, grants, donations and memberships. Carolyn Nash, wife of the commanding officer of the Naval Construction Battalion Center, RAdm David Nash, had the idea of forming this organization and on Februray 16, 1993 the Friends held its first function, a dinner, attended by 140 members and guests.
In addition to subsidizing the preservation and restoration of the mansion, members may, subject to availability, use the Bard Mansion for dining, meetings, luncheons, weddings, exhibitions, etc., as well as having the opportunity to participate in special scheduled golf tournaments, ship visits, Seabee Museum tours, and other special events.
